Army seeks Pak help for fishing out bodies

SRINAGAR, May 12: Army has sought the help of their Pakistani counterparts in Uri sector in fishing out the bodies of two civilians who were drowned in river Jhelum yesterday.
It may be mentioned here that three members of a family drowned in river Jhelum in North Kashmir near Line of Control (LoC) in Uri yesterday.
Hafizullah Badan, son of Raj Wali, 48, his son Nayeem Ahmad, 15, and his cousin Aftab Ahmad Badan, son of Khan Mohammad, 27, of Dacchi drowned in river Jhelum when they were fishing in river yesterday afternoon.
Police and Army launched massive rescue operation but so far only body of Aftab Ahmad was recovered. The water of the river beyond Salamabad was also stopped by closing the gates of the river but it was of no avail.
The authorities in Uri feel that the two bodies might have been carried by the speedy waters of the river to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). They have informed the Army to get in touch with the Pakistan Army so that the bodies could be searched in river on the other side of the LoC.
The Army in Uri has got in touch with their Pakistani counterparts and asked them to search for the bodies across LoC in river Jhelum.
