Arnab Goswami booked for his derogatory remark against religious place

MUMBAI : An FIR has been registered against the Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami and two others from the news channel for hurting religious sentiments by making a derogatory remark against a religious place located in suburban Bandra, police said on Monday.
Mr Goswami made the purported remark during a April 29 show, in which, he insinuated conspiracy by minority community in Bandra migrants gathering incident.
During the show, visuals of the place were displayed while Mr Goswami kept wondering why they gathered in front of it.
On April 14, the migrant workers started gathering at the spot late afternoon as they were anxious to return to their natives. As the local police was trying to engage with the workers, more of them kept coming and squatted near the place.
Specifically training his guns on the gathering’s location, Mr Goswami hotly debated as why they gathered there but didn’t mention that it was in close proximity of the Bandra West Railway Station.
On Saturday, a secretary of an NGO filed the FIR against him at the Pydhonie Police Station.
