JAMMU, Apr 11: BJP State vice-president & Incharge Kashmir Ramesh Arora, while condemning attack on party candidate Mushtaq Noorabadi and snatching of vehicle from one of the district president in Pulwama, demanded that the Government should ensure fool-proof security of BJP candidates and office bearers in Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference here, today, Arora said that the motorcade of BJP candidate for Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency Mushtaq Noorabadi was attacked by some unidentified persons while he was on his election campaigning at Shopian. It resulted into injuries to two party activists accompanying the candidate and damage to the vehicles. Not only this, vehicle of our Pulwama district president, Gulzar Ahmed Nangroo was forcibly snatched by two men, who may be militants. He said that the same vehicle could be recovered by police after more than 30 hours. These two incidents have sent a wave of terror and insecurity among our other candidates as well as office bearers, who are required to visit different areas in connection with the election campaigning for the ongoing elections of Lok Sabha.
Ramesh Arora said that both these incidents have been brought into the notice of Election Commission of India as well as the concerned Chief Electoral Officer. He urged them to direct the Government to take the matter seriously and provide adequate security besides making proper security arrangements at the party office at Srinagar.
Arora claimed that the people of Kashmir too are in mood of a change and want to teach Congress and NC a lesson for their mis-governance, corruption, scams, misdeeds and promoting dynasty rule. He further claimed that the BJP candidates contesting in Kashmir will get record votes this time.
BJP State press secretary Balbir Ram Rattan was also present in the press conference.
