Around 100 employees found absent

Srinagar, Mar 18: The salaries of around 100 employees were today withheld after they were found absent from their duties at various offices in Gurez in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
It was on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad that a special team was constituted under the supervision of SDM Gurez Dr Mudasir Ahmad.
In this regard, Tehsildar Saleem Ahmad Samoon inspected many Govt offices including educational institutes, Forest Department and Social Welfare Department where at least 100 employees were found absent.
Later, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, the salaries of absent employees were withheld.
The absent employees have also been directed to report to their duties and also explain the reasons for their unauthorised absence to the office of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora through their controlling officers within 2 days failing which disciplinary proceedings will be initiated against them.
