KATRA, Sept 24: A meeting of Navratra Festival’s All India Devotional Song Competition Committee was held here today under the chairmanship of Rakesh Wazir and held threadbare discussions with regard to its preparations.
While speaking on the occasion, Wazir briefed that Navratra Festival’s All India Devotional Song Competition will be held this year after a gap of two years with full fan fare and glory with top film personalities and singers from film industry gracing the occasion besides performing their duties as Judges also.
“This year, the former winners of the competition including Mool Raj, Sonali Dogra, Anjusha, Sanjeet Kumar, Ravi Kumar, and Chaman Lehri will also perform live,” he added.
Wazir said that this is 23rd competition and efforts would be made to increase its horizon and keeping in view this fact in mind, the all over India publicity for auditions and participation is going on through print and electronic media. Auditions are going to be held from 26 Sept to 1st Oct and its registration can be done at Tourist Office Katra personally or through mobiles 9419915907, 9797684979, he added.
In the meeting, different committees were formed for the smooth conduct of the competition, which included Committee for Reception of Guests which comprised of Shyam Lal Kesar as its Chairman; Committee for finalizing of names of judges, committee for facilitation of auditions and its management, committee for media facilitation and management, committee for stage settings/sitting arrangements and supervision etc.
Wazir further said that live telecast of the programme for all nine days will be made through PTC Punjabi Gold form 26th Sept to 4th Oct from 9 PM onwards daily & 92.7 Big FM would be the Radio Partner.
The meeting was attended by Shyam Lal Kesar, Rakesh Sharma, Virender Kesar, Sudershan Sharma, Sanjay Kumar, Sushil Kumar, Sanjeet Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Subhash Chander and others.
