LEH, Apr 30: Deputy Commissioner, Tsering Angchok, today finalized arrangements for Buddha Jayanti, which falls on May 6, in a meeting with the Ladakh Buddhist Association and the district officers of different departments.
The vice president LBA Tsewang Thinless said that this year Buddha Jayanti would be celebrated in a larger way and sought all out support from the administration in terms of cleanliness of the route of procession (Bum-Skor) , drinking water facility, uninterrupted power, medical service, public address system, seating arrangements and regulation of traffic movement.
Accordingly, Deputy Commissioner issued instructions to the concerned departments. In view of the significance of the day, Mr Angchok assured that there should be no lapses in the arrangements on the part of district administration.
Among others the meeting was attended by the Additional DC, Tsering Morup and Additional SP Stanzin Norbu.
