Jammu, June 6: Expressing surprise over the arrest of SI Shiv Kumar alias Sonu, the former Union Minister and MLA, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has warned that this would lead to many tensions and put in question the sincerity of the ruling leaders in tackling the menace of cross border terror.
Prof. Gupta pointed out that Sonu was known for his crusade against the terrorists. He had suffered bullets but continued to fight the ultras. He was well known for eliminating many dreaded terrorists for which he was given several gallantry awards and even a position in the State Police.
He said the circumstances under which he has been arrested and wide publicity is being given to his arrest, is bound to raise many eyebrows and doubts in the Government action.
This would also lead to encouragement to the ultras and anti-national elements, Prof. Gupta added and impressed upon the high-ups, both in the State as also in the Centre, to look into matter to avoid more problems and controversies than any good.
