Art 370 is a dead issue now: Balbir to PAGD

JAMMU, Aug 25: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of BJP asks People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) to digest the fact that Art 370 is a dead issue now and has become part of the history, which has no relevance to be discussed.
Spokesperson of the J&K, BJP, Balbir Ram Rattan, while putting forth his party’s view point on the demand for restoration of Articles 370 and 35-A, said that bringing back Special Status is next to impossible and the PAGD leaders should stop misleading the people on false assurances. It would be better if the PAGD leaders utilize their time and energy in contributing to the development process initiated by the BJP government under PM Narendra Modi.
Balbir said that the poor response to the repeated calls by PAGD, even in Valley to garner public support, itself proves that the days of self-centric, dynastic politics in Kashmir are over as the people had very bitter experience of the kind of governance during the regimes of NC and PDP prior to the abrogation of Art 370.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that still there is time that the PAGD understands the nerve of the people, who are, in no mood, to believe them anymore and want peace, development and progress and discard the slogans of Autonomy, Self Rule and culture of stone pelting.
The BJP, however, stands with the assurance of the Union Home Minister given on the floor of the Parliament, that J&K would be given Statehood,” Spokesperson said and added that the PAGD leaders should have faith in the Parliament and not make hue and cry on it just for the sake of politics.
