Addressing a rally here today while filing nomination papers of BJP candidate from Jammu East, Assembly segment, Yudhvir Sethi, Thakur said that Congress and National Congress (NC) want to revive terrorism and separatism in Jammu and Kashmir by restoring the controversial Article 370 and releasing all jailed militants and separatists.
“This will be never possible during the Narendra Modi Government which is for bringing peace and prosperity in the lives of the people of J&K. The people of UT constantly suffered over three decades of Pak sponsored terrorism which was the result of wrong policies of previous Congress and NC Governments”, he added.
Thakur, while turning tables on the two parties, said because of these parties, 45000 people were killed in Jammu and Kashmir during turmoil.
He regretted that these parties are not satisfied yet. That is why they are talking about bringing back Article 370 and 35 A which sowed the seeds of separatism in erstwhile State. Article 370 can never come back as long as BJP and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s Government is there.
The BJP leader said that his party right from the days of Praja Parishad and Jana Sangh was against the incorporation of Article 370 and 35 A in the Constitution and founder president of Bharatiya Jana Sangh now BJP, Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee laid down his life opposing the separate status to J&K as our party stood for complete merger of J&K with rest of country.
Thakur asked the Gandhi and Abdullah families that why do they want to repeal the Public Safety Act (PSA) from Jammu and Kashmir. “Do they want the terrorism and separatism should again raise its ugly head and put the UT on the path of devastation and destruction once again. Are these parties not happy with restoration of peace in Kashmir and development in the UT of J&K. Do they want to push it backward and create an atmosphere of uncertainty?” he said.
If the two parties are really well wishers of people of J&K they should have openly supported PM Modi without consideration of party politics and extended him their all cooperation in promoting peace and development of the UT.
After all, how much damage do these parties want to cause in Jammu and Kashmir? Thakur asked.
“These families want to destroy peace in Jammu and Kashmir and promote terrorism, drugs and stone pelting once again. Taking advantage for three generations, are they not satisfied yet?”, Anurag asked. He said the agenda of Congress from Jawaharlal Nehru to Rahul Gandhi is to end reservation; in Jammu and Kashmir, three families kept the Valmiki community, refugees from West Pakistan and ST and Gujjar Bakarwal deprived of their rights. Modi Government has done the work of giving rights to all sections by ending Article 370, he added.
