JAMMU, July 30: The Art of Living Jammu Chapter celebrated Paryavaran week 2015 by planting hundreds of medicinal, herbal, fruit and shade giving plants within vicinity of Jammu city, institutional areas, public parks, roads, schools, colleges and outer areas. The initiative was taken by The Art of living Woman’s club of AOL Jammu Chapter.
The tree plantation activity was vigorously done by The Art of Living Jammu teachers, volunteers, students, Institutional staff and general public .The main activity was done in and around KV School Sunjwaan, NITS Polytechnic Miran Sahib, Govt Girls High School Sarore, public areas and temples in the old city, Shiv temple and public parks in Trikuta Nagar and Shastri Nagar and public areas near SDN hospital in Channi Himmat.
The state coordinator, the Art of Living Woman’s Club Neerja Bhasin while speaking on the occasion said that tree-plantation week is celebrated on the onset of Guru Purnima which is on July 31 to inculcate among the general public the need for growing trees and preserving them.
A weeklong tree plantation activity was organized not only in Jammu but all across the country and lakhs of saplings of different species are planted by AOL under blessings and inspirations of AOL founder Sri Sri Ravi Shanker Ji who chose this auspicious week for such activity and day as environmental day.
Hemu Karki, Prabha Slathia, Sunita Cherwoo, Tejasvi Gupta, Savinder Gupta and volunteers and Shakuntla Razdan, Anju Gupta, Suman Sharma, Neeta Kaul, Shivani, Nirmal ji, Naresh Manhas, Nirmal Jain, Abhi, Swati and Sonal were present on the occasion.
