JAMMU, Dec 31: Doordarshan and other artists from Jammu region have demanded restoration of in house production and normal Doordarshan activities at Jammu/ Srinagar Kendras.
In a meeting of the artists held at Press Club of Jammu today, in consonance with the meetings held at Srinagar and Delhi recently, the artists expressed serious concern over the suspension of in house production and other normal activities in Doordarshan. They said with this attitude of the authorities the artists are left with no work.
They pointed out that the artist community is moving from pillar to post for the last over ten years but there is nobody to listen them. They have been made to sit idle. Their talent is not being tapped.
They appealed the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to restore Doordarshan activities in J&K, with the restoration of in house production , commissioned programmes, release back log payments and post super scale directors at DD Srinagar and Jammu.
Meeting was chaired by Association president, Tariq Javed while Bihari Kak, Kawal Razdan, Ayash Arif, Kirti Kapil, Kusum Dhar and others also attended.
