JAMMU, Feb 4: The young, talented artists from J&K, who have come together with renowned Bollywood playback singers to create “Pyaara Jammu Kashmir’ song met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today at the Raj Bhawan.
The Lt Governor congratulated the talented artists from J&K – Sars Bharti, Reema Devi, Rajendra Kalotra & Suhaib Kandoo for heart-touching fabulous music, which beautifully captures breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of the Union Territory.
J&K’s verdant land between pristine rivers & green mountains is the Jewel in India’s crown. The magical song ‘Pyaara Jammu Kashmir’ reflects the ageless, composite culture of J&K in the divine & universal language of music, observed the Lt Governor.
Young artists from J&K, who are also the members of Shaurya J&K Band was provided the opportunity by the Northern Command, Indian Army to perform with the great singing voices like Sonu Nigam, Papon, Harshdeep Kaur, Aabhas & Shreyas. The song features perfect rendition by well-known actors Sidharth Malhotra and Saurabh Shukla.
Released by the then Army Commander, Northern Command Lt Gen YK Joshi on 30th January, the song was premiered on YouTube and other social media platforms.
Tazeem Akther, Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Poonch also called on Lieutenant Governor.
The DDC Chairperson apprised the Lt Governor about various matters pertaining to the development of her district, besides putting forth the demand of a women college, a trauma Centre for Poonch, expediting Jammu-Poonch National Highway, and proper maintenance and functioning of PDD projects.
The Lt Governor while interacting with Akther listened to the demands and issues presented by her, and assured that all the genuine issues would be looked into for their redressal on merit.
He urged the DDC Chairperson to continue her endeavours for promoting the welfare of people of Poonch and development of the district.
