UDHAMPUR, June 7: Following a fatal road accident due to rash driving of a minibus and directions of the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, ARTO Udhampur Rachna Sharma today conducted surprise checking of vehicles operating in the area under her jurisdiction.
The checking of vehicles was conducted at Jib, Thathi, Chopra Shop and Battal Ballian areas of Udhampur. During the drive, 17 vehicles were seized for not having the registration documents while 176 others were booked for fine. Compound fine of Rs 74000 was realized on the spot from the erring operators.
According to the ARTO, the operation will continue for regulating vehicular traffic in Udhampur. She appealed all the owners of the vehicles to maintain the documents of their vehicles.
