DODA, Feb 28: Assistant Road Transport Officer Doda, Er. Kuldeep Singh has suspended RC/Permit of 5 vehicles for a period of 03 months under section 53 and 86 of Motor vehicles Act, 1988 amended Act 2019.
“Taking Cognizance of prima-facie use of five Motor Vehicles in the commissioning of the offence of illegal transportation of live stock of animals especially bovine animals and in view of violation/contravention of all the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act & Rules framed there under for transportation of bovine animals, besides in contravention of rules prescribed for transportation of animals under Animals Transportation Act, 1978, the permit and RC of Vehicles bearing registration No JK06B-1557, JK06B-2363 and Registration Certificate of Vehicles bearing number JK06A-9916, JK06B-0862 and JK06-6734 have been suspended for 3 months”, a communiqué of ARTO stated.
The RC and Permit of vehicle bearing Registration No. JK06B-3128 has also been suspended earlier.
The owners of these vehicles have been directed to surrender the registration Certificate and Permits of these vehicles to the Registering Authority.
It has been further informed that the Police and MVD authorities have geared up to launch a major crackdown on the bovine smuggling and owners of the vehicles found involved in the illegal transportation of Bovine Animals.
The vehicle owners have been directed to desist from such activities in the vehicles for more punitive action under law.
