JAMMU, Aug 13: Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Jammu, was today seriously injured when he was hit by a car driven by a learner at transport yard during a trial test in this winter capital of the State.
“ARTO identified as Mohammad Saleem (45) son of Abdul Karim, resident of Bathindi, this morning sustained critically injuries on his both arms and one of the shoulders when he was ran over by a car driven by a learner driver, who lost control over the vehicle while giving trial for getting driving license, at a yard at Transport Nagar,’’ police sources here said.
They said that profusely bleeding ARTO was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, from where he was later referred to Ludhiana for advanced treatment.
According to SDPO Narwal, Chanden Kohli, a case in this connection was registered and further investigation was underway.
