Developmental issues of Reasi, Katra discussed

NEW DELHI, Oct 4: J&K UT BJP secretary and Prabhari of Reasi district, Arvind Gupta called on MoS in PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh here, today and discusses the issues of development of Reasi and holy town of Katra with him.
During his discussion, he raised the issue of Katra Bazar and urged Union Minister to declare this bazaar as Heritage town, as nearly 10 million people are visiting here every year to get the blessing of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji. Declaration of Katra Bazar as Heritage town will also help to increase the flow of national as well as the international tourists in the area, he added.
Arvind Gupta raised the issue of re-opening of the world-famous waterfall in Reasi for tourism, which is also known as Baba Siar water fall. This is the biggest water fall in entire North India, and thousands of devotees used to visit there.
He said in year 2018, during the Monsoon, there was a massive landslide in an adjacent hill in which, at least seven people were killed and 34 others were injured when a huge boulder and debris fell off a hillock in Siar Baba waterfall.
After that mishap, the work for the re-construction is standstill. Gupta urged Dr Jitendra Singh to start the development work there, so that pilgrims start visiting and it will also help in generating income among the educated youth of this area.
He further urged the Union Minister to bring Suley water body in Reasi district on pilgrimage Tourism map as Shiv Kund is also situated near the park. This place was ignored by previous rulers.
The Union Minister, PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh assured the BJP leader that these issues will be addressed at the earliest as possible and said that it the priority of the PM Modi led Government is to develop each and every part of Jammu and Kashmir UT.
