DODA, Nov 29: Arya Samaj Bhaderwah here today organised a one-day programme on Vedic Sermons under the aegis of Arya Pratinidhi Sabha J&K.
The event stressed on preserving and promoting the values of Vedas and the principles of Arya Samaj.
The programme began with Yajna by Chain Lal Shastri and Ritu Shastri while Chaman Lal Gupta was main Yajman.
After this, the flag-hoisting ceremony was performed by former MLC Naresh Gupta.
The atmosphere was further enriched by soulful devotional songs by Patimat Shetu Shah, Asha Arth, Rakesh Arya and others.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Tinde Kalan president, Hans Raj and his wife, Arun Arya, Ashok Khanna, Pawan Raina, Sumit Gupta, Rajendra Gupta, Rakesh Arya, Mahatma Chuni Lal from Lamberi, Purohit Kailash Arya, Bharat Bhushan Arya, Krishna Lal Arya from Arya Samaj Chinta and Harminder along with many others
Speaking on the occasion Naresh Gupta called for collective efforts to revive Bhaderwah’s intellectual and spiritual heritage.
Chaman Lal Gupta also spoke on the occasion. The event culminated with the election of new office-bearers under the chairmanship of Chuni Lal Arya and Chaman Lal Gupta was unanimously elected as president; Puneet Mehta, vice president; Manish Dutt, patron; Sant Ram Shan, secretary and Hans Raj, treasurer. Core Committee members included Ajit Singh Wazir, Mastnath Yogi, Shankar Singh, Kamlesh Gupta, Anil Gupta, Richa Gupta and Ashu Mehta.
Former president, Jaswant Singh Charak and Ved Prakash Kotwal were also present on the occasion.
