JAMMU, Jan 22: Under the aegis of Arya Pratinidhi Sabha J&K, Arya Samaj Dayanand Marg, City Chowk paid rich tribute to Amar Shaheed Veer Ram Chandra on his 100th martyrdom anniversary at Veer Ram Chandra Samarak on Akhnoor Road near Batehra.
The programme started with 21 Kund Vedic Hawan wherein people from all walks of life participated.
Students from Arya Kanya Pathshala Kachi Chawani, DAV Kachi Chawani, Vasudev Katumbakam, Narwal and Guru Nanak High School, Dindekalan (R.S Pura) participated.
After culmination of Hawan, Om Dwaj was hoisted and rich tributes were paid to Veer Ram Chandra by Arun Chowdhary, president Arya Pratinidhi Sabha J&K; Dr. Pratibha Purandi and Dr. Satya Priya-Assistant Professors; Arun Kumar Gupta, president, Arya Samaj Dayanand Marg and Balwan Singh, general secretary, Arya Samaj Dayanand Marg.
Family members of Shaheed Veer Ram Chandra namely – Mukesh Gupta, Rohini Gupta, Subash Gupta and Sudha Gupta were honoured with shawl and Satyarth Prakash by Arya Pratinidhi Sabha and Arya Samaj Dayanand Marg.
Narendra Dutt, president Megh Sabha; Ramesh Chander, general secretary Megh Sabha; Bahadur Lal, convenor SC Sabha; Lal Chand, Principal Chief Conservator; Arun Khanna, Chairman Health and Sanitation Committee of JMC and Darshan Lal Bamotra, president, All India SC, ST, OBC Confederation R.S Pura were also honoured by Arun Chowdhary.
Colorful programmes were organised by the students from various schools and they were awarded for their outstanding performances during the academic year.
