JAMMU, Feb 7: With the aim to aware students about the need for stringent cyber laws, Aryans College of Law, Rajpura, near Chandigarh organized a webinar on ‘Cyber Laws for Emerging Technologies’.
Prof Manu Rampal of Aryans College of Law interacted with the students of Law, Engineering, Management, Nursing, Pharmacy, B. Ed and Agriculture.
Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the webinar.
Prof Rampal while interacting with students said cyber crimes are currently ruling major newspaper headlines globally, causing unanticipated damages to industries and individuals.
She said that predominant forms of cyber thefts include data breach, identity theft, financial theft and internet time thefts.
“In India, cyber laws are contained in Information Technology Act 2000. The purpose of the Act is to provide legal recognition to electronic commerce and to facilitate filing of electronic records with the Government,” she maintained.
