SRINAGAR, July 31: Eight Kashmiri students of Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh brought laurels for the college and the Valley.
Students namely Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Sahdiya Anjum, Mohammad Rafiq Khan, Mustaqeem Afzal, Tahid Nazir Rather, Zakir Zaman, Showkat Ahmad and Muzaffer Ahmad Taley who belonged to Kashmir and studying at Aryans bagged top positions in the merit list of Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar.
A felicitation ceremony was held today for these meritorious students here at Srinagar.
Waheed-ur-Rehman Para, political analyst to Chief Minister, Mufti Mohd Sayeed and youth president of People’s Democratic Party, was the chief guest while Dr Anshu Kataria, chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, presided over the event.
Dr Kataria while addressing the press conference said that our meritorious students have made us proud by showcasing their academic excellence. Their success is the evidence that we are on the right path.
He said that students of Electrical Engineering 3rd semester namely Mushtaq Ahmad Khan bagged 3rd position, Sahdiya Anjum-7th position, Mohd Rafiq Khan-10th position, Mustaqeem Afzal of ECE-3rd semester secured 4th position in PTU merit list while Showkat Ahmad of EEE-7th Semester secured 9th position in PTU merit list.
Apart from these, students of Civil Engineering namely Tahid Nazir Rather secured 5th position, Zakir Zaman secured 7th position and Muzaffer Ahmad Taley secured 9th position in PTU merit list.
Nitin Khosla, Faculty, Aryans Group said that all the staff and Management of Aryans are proud of these students. He added that the faculty also played a major role for their achievement. He further said that the college would extend every possible help to them during their courses.
