JAMMU, Apr 4: As the weather played spoilsport and prevented Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad’s chopper to fly in the  remote and inaccessible areas of Dudu-Basantgarh, Ramnagar and Bhamag belt in Reasi for election campaign, Mr Azad devised a novel way of telephonically addressing gatherings today.
On the second time again, due to inclement weather his chopper could not take off from Jammu airport.  Keeping in mind the huge gatherings converged at various places in the hilly belts of Udhampur-Doda constituency, where rallies were proposed, Mr Azad chose to address public meetings telephonically.
Despite his physical absence from  in the snow clad  and remote hilly belts, including Latti, Basantarh, Chowki, Satiyan, Ghordi, Bhamag and Pancheri, a large number of people listened to Mr Azad  and voiced for his victory in the elections. The Congress candidate in his respective candid speeches, greeted the people on the ongoing Navratra festival  and was apologetic for not interacting in person due to bad weather conditions.
Mr Azad called upon the people to beware of the designs of the divisive forces  and urged them to strengthen the hands of secular Congress Party, which ensures development  and integrity of nation. He said if the people want continuation of development and progress in the State, they must vote for Congress Party.
Referring to several development projects, Mr Azad said  when he took over the reigns of the State in 2005, he finalised a number of new roads to connect the far-flung and remote areas.  Over 40-50 % work has been completed on these projects. He hoped that next time when he would come to these places, he would come by road and not by chopper.  He said creation of new administrative units, opening of new hospitals, Health Centres, presence of Asha workers, NRHM reveals Congress -NC coalition’s  commitment towards people.
Lashing out at BJP Mr Azad said their  policies to cheat people on the basis of religion will never bring them to Parliament.  He said the proclaimed wave of Modi can not let him to veil the remarkable achievements of Congress Party. He asked the people to remain vigilant against false propaganda.
