ASCOMS employees go on indefinite strike

JAMMU, July 29: ASCOMS Employees Welfare Association (AEWA) today went on indefinite strike as management of the institution failed to fulfill the demands of its employees.
In a press release issued today, the Association said despite several meetings and written requests made to the management as well as the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Jammu by its leaders both the organizations have failed to get the minimum wages implemented in ASCOMS & Hospital.
“ASCOMS Hospital Employees Welfare Association has never wished to halt the functioning of the institution but they were forced by the management of the ASCOMS to go for trade union action,” the release said.
The main demands of the Association are implementation of the AWARD passed by Industrial Tribunal Labour Court, J&K on August 13, 2017, implementation of Revised Minimum Wages under SRO 460, implementation of promotion policy/service benefits to the senior employees, release of pending 10 years service benefits for the employees with effect from their due date (with arrears) and implementation of CGHS rates for ASCOMS employees.
