JAMMU, Sept 16: To commemorate World Patient Safety Day, Department of Hospital Administration, ASCOMS & Hospital organized ‘Quality and Safety Week’ in which various activities were organized on the theme of ‘Patient Safety’.
The event was organized under the supervision of Dr. Rabinder Rattanpal, Medical Superintendent, ASCOMS & Hospital and Dr. Deepika Mahajan, Dy. Medical Superintendent & Organizing Secretary.
Posters, Rangoli and slogan competitions were conducted during the Week.
Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Director (Coordination), New Govt. Medical Colleges, Nursing and Paramedical Colleges of J&K and president, Academy of Hospital Administration India was chief guest.
Others present on the occasion were Manik Batra, Trustee, ASCOMS and guest of honour, Dr. K.S Mehta, Director Principal, ASCOMS & Hospital, Dr. Ravinder K. Gupta, Prof & HoD, Pediatrics, ASCOMS, Dr. Bella Mahajan, Prof & HoD, Microbiology, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Prof & HoD, ENT, Dr. Rajesh K. Gupta, Prof and HoD, Orthopedics, Brig (Dr.) R.K Khajuria, Prof, PSM and Dr. Meraj Din Chauhan, DGM (Audit & Hosp Adm.) ASCOMS.
The event was also attended by faculty, staff, postgraduate students, paramedics and both MBBS and nursing students.
Dr. Rabinder Rattanpal highlighted the importance of Patient Safety followed by a presentation about activities conducted throughout Quality and Safety Week by Dr. Deepika Mahajan.
The chief guest highlighted various key points in his guest lecture on Patient Safety.
Dr. K.S Mehta, Director Principal also spoke on the occasion.
A cleanliness drive was also conducted and Department of Pediatrics secured first position.
A skit on Patient Safety was performed by the students of Nursing College.
The participants and the winners were felicitated by the dignitaries followed by a vote of thanks by Dr. Meraj Din Chauhan.
