ASCOMS hospital employees’ body threatens agitation

JAMMU, July 19: ASCOMS Employees Welfare Association (Sidhra college and hospital), has threatened to launch agitation if the management failed to address employees’ genuine and justified pending demands within two weeks.

In a meeting of the executive body of the employees held here today under the leadership of its president, Ravinder Slathia, the Association served two weeks notice to the management. They said the employees will be left with the only option to go on indefinite strike if their demands were not addressed.

The members pointed out that they have given several representations to the college and hospital management since October 4 last year but the management continued to ignore their genuine demands. The low paid employees like NOs and helpers are facing lot of harassment and victimization. They have been deprived of several benefits. For termination of services of workers, no proper rules under Labour law are followed, they maintained.

Senior BMS leader Laxman Ravinder Singh, Bhushan Sharma general secretary of the body, Parkash Singh vice president, Sachin Bali cashier, Rakesh Chouhan, Ramesh Pandita, Yash Pal, Kali Dass and Sanjay Sharma were also present in the meeting.
