JAMMU, Nov 20: Department of Pediatrics, ASCOMS & Hospital in association with Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) organized basic neonatal resuscitation program.
The program was aimed at training medical and paramedical personnel dealing with birth of newborn babies to assess and resuscitate newborn babies if required. The program was attended by doctors from the Pediatrics and Gynaecology & Obstetrics departments and staff nurses from ASCOMS and other hospitals.
The training program was conducted by a team of instructors comprising of Dr Ravinder K Gupta (HoD Pediatrics, ASCOMS), Dr Vikas Mahajan (Associate Professor, ASCOMS), Dr Sushil Sharma (Assistant Professor, ASCOMS), Dr Manoj Sharma (Assistant Professor, ASCOMS) and Dr Wajid Rana (Assistant Professor, ASCOMS).
Dr Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal ASCOMS, who was chief guest on the occasion, encouraged participants to gain necessary skills in neonatal resuscitation which will help them while attending deliveries, be it at tertiary medical institutes or peripheral medical centers.
Instructor Dr Ravinder K Gupta sought feedback for further improvement in conducting the workshop. Pertinently, Dr Sanjeev K Digra and Dr Niraj K Gupta are State coordinators for neonatal resuscitation program and instrumental for conducting these programs across the region.
