ASCOMS organizes cultural event

JAMMU, May 17: Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences organized a cultural event today.
The event was organized by the Department of Sports, Cultural and Academics under the guidance of Dr Ravinder K Gupta (vice chairman, Sport and Cultural Activities).
The chief guest of the function was Davinder K Batra (Sectretary) while Manik Batra (Trustee, ASCOMS) was the guest of honor. Bhisham Batra (Trustee, ASCOMS) was the special guest on the occasion.
Dr Pavan Malhotra (Director Principal, ASCOMS), Dr Ravinder Gupta, various HODs, faculty members of ASCOMS, ASCONE and ASCOPS, staff, students and parents of newcomers were also present on the occasion.
Various scintillating cultural events depicting all Indian cultures from Kashmir to Kanyakumari were presented by the 1st Prof MBBS students with full enthusiasm which enthralled the audience.
During the function, various contests were also conducted and these contests were judged by Manik Batra, Bhisham Batra, Dr KS Mehta (Prof and HoD, Surgery) and Dr Sapna Puri (Prof and HoD, Obstt. & Gynae).
Ayush Gupta was crowned as Mr Fresher while Tamanna Sharma was crowned as Miss Fresher. Shipra Gupta was adjudged as Miss Incredible and Ashutosh Pandey as Mr Incredible while as Kasak Katoch was judged as Miss Charming and Arun Ghai as Mr Charming.
The chief guest, in his address, said that ASCOMS not only focuses on education but it works in a 360 degree manner by developing personal qualities such as leadership, teamwork, determination, flexibility, confidence, self -belief, respect etc, in all to mould a versatile person in the students.
Later, prizes were distributed among the winners by the chief guest, guest of honor, special guest, Director Principal and Vice Chairman, Sports & Cultural Activities.
The 2nd Prof MBBS students conducted the proceedings during the cultural event.
