JAMMU, Mar 18: Acharaya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS) and Hospital today organized a free health check up camp at Maharaja Suraj Mal Institute of Education and Research, Rangpur Maulanian, in tehsil RS Pura.
More than 300 patients were given free consultation and also provided free medicines. The camp was organized at the behest of the management of the school and the active cooperation of the Sarpanch of the area.
Doctors of all the specialities i.e Medicine, Surgery, Ortho, Eye and ENT attended upon the patients. Among those who attended the OPD were Dr Sanjay Bhat, Assistant Professor, Dr Eshan Chopra (SR), Dr Rahul (PG) Department of Medicine, Dr Anoop Kumar (Associate Prof, Orthopaedics), Dr Rajesh Kumar (HOD ENT), Dr Sachin Gupta (Assistant Professor, ENT), Dr Navneet Gupta (Audiologist ), Dr Apoorabh Gupta (SR ENT), Dr Vijata Gupta (SR Eye ) and Dr Gaurav sharma (Eye).
Sushma Choudhary assisted the opthalmologists and conducted refraction of the patients. The patients, who were advised surgery, will be operated at ASCOMS.
In a communication to the management of ASCOMS, the locals requested the authority to make this camp as an ongoing process for better health care of the people living in far flung areas who otherwise remain deprived of the medical facilities.
