KATRA, Oct 17: On fourth day of the All India Devotional Song Competition during the ongoing Navratra Festival at Katra,  Aseem Sharma from Jammu was adjudged as best.
2nd  position in the competition was shared by five contestants, who included  Nandni Kapoor from Jammu, Akash Sangral from Jammu, Ravi Sagar from Jammu, Arun Sharma from  Udhampur and  Balwant Raj from Udhampur.  3rd position was  also shared by two contestants, namely  Rajesh Gaind  from Jammu and  Raman Kumar from Jammu,  among the 12 participants,   adjudged by panel of experts from music,  including Prof Anupama Sharma,  Professor Music Degree College, Jammu, Pt Subash Ghosh from West Bengal,  Sr  disciple of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan Sahab, performing Artist of Govt of India Radio and TV (Doordarshan), Naresh Baisla Managing Director Music 1.
As per the norms of the competition, the contestants who stood first in the preliminary rounds will directly join the Mega Final which is schedule to be held on Oct 21, 2015 while 2nd and  3rd position holders will join Semi final on Oct 20, 2015  to reach Mega Final.
Earlier, All India Devotional Song Competition began with the lighting  of  traditional lamp by chief guest,   Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control,  Sukhnandan Choudhary  in presence MLA Reasi Ajay Nanda and other officers and  dignitaries including Chairman AIDSC Rakesh Wazir, ADC, Reasi Bhawani Singh Rakhwal, Addl SP Katra Sanjeet Kotwal, SDM Katra Anil Chandel, Deputy Director Tourism Kamal Kishore Sharma, Dy SP Katra Ashok Sharma, Naresh Baisla,  Managing Director Music 1, Producer Manoj Chandela, Sanjeev Kumar owner Den Cables Delhi, Sham Lal Kesar, Sardari Lal Dubey, Harish Dubey, Virender Kesar and  other  members of  Navratra Festival Committee and  office bearers Hotel Association,Katra.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister extended greetings on the occasion of Navratra besides appreciating the organizers of the All India Devotional Competition for bringing it to such heights.
The All India Devotional Song Competition is being organized by SMVD Shrine Board and Deptt of Tourism with active support of Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra, India News, Zee PHH, Mh Shardha, Big 92.7 FM, J&K Bank, Zee Anmol, Nidesh Builders, Distt Administration and the local host community.
