JAMMU, Feb 19: Asha Kiran Welfare Society, an NGO working for the welfare of poor and needy members of the society, felicitated several students of Government Schools for their excellent performance and provided assistance to the poor and needy widows and others at the 4th foundation day function held at Janipur.
The Foundation Day function was held under the leadership of Dr J P Gupta, Dr Vikrant Sharma and K N Gupta while Sat Paul, president Bhartiya Yog Sansthan, was the chief guest. It started with the lightening of traditional lamp. Dr Sharma highlighted the achievements of the Society in last four years.
On this occasion students of Govt High School, Janipur and Govt Middle School Janipur were honoured for their performance in academics while financial assistance was provided to the poor and needy widows and other children. Sewing machines were also distributed among some widows during the function.
