Asha vocational training centre inaugurated

JAMMU, Aug 23: A vocational and rehabilitation training centre comprising of paper plate making, photostat, lamination and paper bag making work stations, for the children of Asha School, Jammu Cantt was inaugurated here today.
The training centre was inaugurated by Vandana Sharma, Chairperson, Family Welfare Organisation, Tiger Division, on the occasion of Army Family Welfare Organisation day celebrations.
The Principal, staff members of the school and Veer Naris along with the ladies of Family Welfare Organization, Tiger Division were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Vandana Sharma stated that children from the age group of 12 to 18 years, before leaving the school, would be put on rehabilitation work stations inaugurated, which will facilitate the special children to become part of main stream of society.
Asha School, Jammu Cantt is an institution running under the aegis of Tiger Division, which was established on May 10, 2006. The aim of Asha School is overall development of differently abled children with a view to make them self dependent and useful members of the society.
The school imparts basic education and vocational training to the special children, who are physically and mentally disabled. The school has children, which are wards of military, civilian persons and ex-serviceman.
