Srinagar, June 3: An Asha worker from North Kashmir’s Handwara has become a role model for people after she donated her blood at least 25 times in the last over 9 years, setting an example.
Through her continuous work of donating the blood, Bilqees Ara has been inspiring others too for donating blood and making sure that the precious lives who require blood are saved.
Hailing from Gundchabotra village of Kralgund Tehsil in Handwara, Bilqees, in her early thirties has been working as an ASHA worker since 2012, and soon after that, she had an opportunity of becoming a ‘blood donor’ when her cousin needed the same.
While urging people to come forward and donate blood, she said that frequent blood donation does not affect their health at all and everybody needs to come out of the fear. “It is harmless and at the same time, feeling associated with is not only priceless but satisfying; I have donated my blood 28 times so far and I feel good,” she said.
