UDHAMPUR, Feb 12: A general body meeting of ASHA workers union Majalta, District Udhampur held today in Public Health Centre Majalta under the chairmanship of Sunita Bhagat , general secretary.
While addressing the gathering, Sham Prasad Kesar, senior leader of CITU said that the union as well as State Government is not serious to concede the already accepted demands of the ASHA workers like Assured incentive of Rs. 1000/= per month w.e.f April 2014, minimum wages of Rs. 15000/= per month, regularization as health workers, social security benefits like pension, gratuity, maternity benefits etc be covered in Aam Admi Bima Yojna, rest rooms, uniforms, washing allowance, Id cards, bus passes, incentives be paid in time, promoted as ANMs after training, end to humiliating behavior by the staff etc.
The meeting decided to hand over a memorandum to J P Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare through State Government and also to participate in march to Parliament.
Among others who participated in the programme include Kanta Devi, Vimla Devi, Satya Devi, Veena Devi and others.
