SRINAGAR, Aug 28: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Assembly candidate for the Habba Kadal constituency, Ashok Bhat, kicked off his election campaign today. The campaign began with Ashok Bhat paying obeisance at the religious shrines, where he sought blessings and prayed for the prosperity and progress of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
Later Ashok Bhat, accompanied by BJP leaders and a large number of party workers, conducted a door-to-door campaign across the constituency. The candidate and his team engaged directly with residents, urging them to support the BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections. They highlighted the numerous achievements of the BJP Government in Jammu & Kashmir since 2014 and reminded the electorate of the challenging situation that prevailed in the region before the BJP’s intervention.
The campaign emphasized the restoration of normalcy in Kashmir, attributing the return of peace, development, and social stability to the BJP’s firm resolve. Ashok Bhat and his team stressed that the era of frequent encounters, civilian killings, hartals and school closures, which characterized the region prior to 2019, had ended under BJP’s governance. They also underscored the strides in development and the welfare initiatives that have reached even the most marginalized sections of society.
Despite the rainy and inclement weather, the door-to-door campaign received an overwhelming positive response from the people, who expressed their inclination to vote for the BJP candidate.
Bhat was accompanied during the campaign by prominent leaders including Bashir Mir, Aasif Khan, Majid Khan, constituency team and others.
