JAMMU, June 9: Transporters in Jammu witnessed the launch of two new trucks the 14 wheeler U3718il and the 2518il Truck by India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer- Ashok Leyland.
The launch party was organized in a hotel at Chhanni Himmat Jammu where Anil Dhingra, Regional Manager, Ashok Leyland was the chief guest and IGP Danish Rana the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion Anil Dhingra said that a completely new platform for transporter and logistic firms has been launched. The 14 wheeler U3718il comes with a payload capacity of approximately 27 tones, six tones higher than the famous Ashok Leyland model U3118il also known as 12 wheeler which is also a market leader.
This Ashok Leyland U3718il truck comes loaded with factory built cabin, a 9 speed heavy duty gear box, lift axle as a standard option, it also possesses the owner friendly cost effective in-line fuel pump.
With the expansion and upgradation of the Indian Road network it is now possible and feasible to operate vehicles with higher Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). Higher GVW vehicles have been a need of the hour for transporters across the nation as it results in carriage of higher pay loads with marginal or no increase in costs, thus, resulting in higher profits for the logistic firms.
In addition to the U3718il, Ashok Leyland has also launched its 2518il, a 10 wheeler truck in Jammu which has a GVW of 25 tons with a pay load of 15 tons. This is suitable for truck owners which operate in hilly terrains due to narrow and steep roads. This truck comes with a 180 horsepower engine and a heavy duty 6 speed gearbox ensuring higher payload with easy maneuverability for driving in these hilly terrains.
With the addition of PAL Sales and Service (P) Limited as their new dealer in the State, an organization of the Luthra Group which has a goos record of providing efficient and prompt service to their customers through their sister concerns Pal Engineers and Pal Infrastructure Solutions, the company expects the sales to even improve further.
Ashok Leyland has recently been awarded the world’s best performing Automotive Manufacturing Company and has seen a 40% YoY increase sales in the year 2015-16. The same is reflected in company’s stock price which has risen steadily over the past few years.
