JAMMU Nov 9: Ashok Sharma Vashisht of Jammu has been conferred Sahitya Shree honour by Rashtriya Kavi Sangam Jammu and Kashmir for his contribution in the promotion of Hindi language in the non Hindi region.
The Sahitya Shree award was presented to Ashok Sharma during a function in the presence of national President of Rashtriya Kavi Sangam, Jagdish Mittal, former MLA Dr Krishan Lal Bhagat and other literary personalities.
Ashok Sharma, poet and writer, has been honoured for his outstanding Hindi works in non Hindi region. He has more than 90 poems to his credit He is associated with literary activities since his student days and was Secretary of College Sahitya Sabha. After his retirement from Defence Account Department , he is active in literary activities.
Ashok Sharma has dedicated this honour to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and hoped that people will get inspiration and work for the promotion of Hindi language here. Recently, he was conferred Prerna Shree award by the Concert Theater Lucknow for his contribution in the promotion of Hindi language.
