JAMMU, Apr 23: Print and Electronic Cameraman Association is organizing Ashok Sodhi Memorial Cricket Tournament from April 30 onwards at Parade ground.
The tournament is being organised to re-memorize the contribution of Late Ashok Sodhi, Senior Photojournalist, who attained martyrdom while performing professional duties during an encounter at Samba on May 11, 2008.
Late Sodhi had strong passion for sports exclusively for cricket, and thus the colleagues and his old friends have decided to pay homage to late soul in the unique style by organizing Ashok Sodhi Memorial Cricket Tournament.
The tournament will be played on knock-out basis and 2 matches will be played on regular basis, one at 8:30 am and another at 1 pm. The two teams who qualify for the finals will take on each other on May 11.
The interested clubs and teams have been requested to register themselves on or before April 28. The entry fee for the tournament is Rs 2,500 and may be deposited to Vijay Kumar at Mini Stadium, Parade.
