JAMMU, Mar 17: The activists of Jammu State Morcha (JSM) organized a massive rally under the leadership of local MLA, Ashwani Sharma at Bishnah town today.
While addressing the large gathering the Morcha Legislator strongly opposed the demand raised by National Conference and PDP leadership regarding withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from the State.
He said the time was not ripe for the same and both these parties were playing politics over it. The JSM MLA also strongly criticized the role of PDP-NC over Afzal Guru’s issue and said that it is very unfortunate that these Kashmir based parties were  making hue and cry over the dead body of  a convicted terrorist.
Mr Sharma charged the NC-Congress Coalition Government with pursuing the policy of discrimination with Jammu region. He strongly projected the demand of delimitation of Assembly segments to increase seats of Jammu region and reddressal of genuine demands of West Pakistan, PoK and 1965-71 refugees.  Mr Sharma pointed out that refugees were agitating for the last many decades but Government has failed to settle their issues. He also criticized the Valley based parties for the indifferent response on the issues of these refugees.
The MLA also referred to many development works initiated in Bishnah constituency in over the last 10 years by him.  He said several new roads have been constructed, schools opened, transformers installed and two Grid Stations raised to augment the power supply. 50-bedded hospital is coming up in Bishnah and health sector has also shown improvement, he said. On this occasion PDP leader from Arnia Yashpal Saini joined JSM along with his supporters. Several Sarpanchs and senior leaders of the area addressed the gathering.
