ARNIA, May 31: To mark the completion of eight years of Modi Government in the country, former MLA Bishnah and senior BJP leader Ashwani Sharma alongwith Municipal Committee (MC) Arnia chairman Romesh Saini laid foundation stone of 33/11 KV -2×10 MVA Receiving Station today.
All the councilors of MC Arnia were also present on the occasion.
This receiving station is part of the overall development of border areas in general and Arnia town in particular of Bishnah Assembly constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashwani Sharma said that this was the long pending demand of the people of Arnia town to install a Receiving Station in the area. “By laying the foundation stone of this prestigious project, it will boost the power scenario in the area and the electricity problem will be addressed,” he said.
“The project will be completed at a cost of Rs 4.8 crores and transmission and distribution woes of electricity will be addressed. It has been the endeavour of the Narendra Modi led Government to provide grassroot development in every sector and the new receiving station is a major step towards achieving these goals,” the BJP leader said.
Arnia is a border town of Bishnah Assembly constituency of Jammu district where since 2014 drastic changes have been occurring and development has taken pace. Besides power sector, border areas have been made secure, people are being given better living, peace has prevailed and employment opportunities for the educated youth have increased tremendously.
This area has seen decline in cross border shelling which earlier used to be a regular affair and lives of people used to remain in danger. But now, ceasefire violation incidents have come down and bunkers for border dwellers have also been constructed to provide safety to the people.
