SRINAGAR, Sept 25: An Assistant Sub-Inspector of J&K Police was today grievously injured after his car was hit by a vehicle near Model town in Sopore.
A police official said the cop was travelling in his Maruti car when his vehicle was hit by another car, injuring him badly. He said that the man who was driving the other vehicle managed to escape from the spot.
The injured cop was swiftly taken to nearby Sub-District Hospital, Sopore, where, after attending to him, the doctors referred him to Srinagar for further treatment
The injured cop has been identified ASI Ghulam Nabi Hajam.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case in this regard and further investigation set in motion.
