ASKPC delegation calls on Dullu, discusses Ayushman cards issue

JAMMU, Feb 17: A delegation of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) led by its president, R K Wangnoo met Atal Dulloo the Health and Medical Welfare Commissioner J&K UT at his office here, today.
The delegation appraised him about the whole situation that the Kashmiri migrants despite standing in queues during COVID -19 period tried to get registered for Ayushman Bharat Yojana but it proved futile exercise reasons best known to the Government authorities as the community has not received the Ayushman Golden cards till date though over four months have elapsed.
The delegation sought the intervention of Atal Dulloo so that Kashmiri Pandit migrants would get benefit by Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) Golden Cards, announced by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for J&K UT citizens. It is the major health scheme of Rs 5 lakh per household on a floating basis and would cover from day one that would really provide a succor to migrant patients who suffer with health problems like cancer, kidney disease, oncology, cardiology and nephrology now with COVID-19.
The delegation also appraised him that names of 50% Pandit migrants were missing in the 2011 census list while checking their names at CSC centers so they faced mental agony.
The issue of pending migrant medical bills at his office was also discussed besides COVID- 19 vaccinations.
After listening the demands Health and Medical Welfare Commissioner contacted the agency which was at the helm of affairs for registering migrants within and outside migrant camps for Jan Arogya Yojana(AB-PMJAY) and directed him to open more windows and speed up the registering process so that Golden Cards would be issued without any further delay.
The Commissioner also assured the delegation that the pending genuine medical bills would be cleared on priority bases in near future. He said that COVID- 19 vaccination would be started in Jagti Migrant Camp Hospital and outside camps in different hospitals in March.
The other members of delegation were Ravinder Razdan, vice president, Sanjay Pandita and Bharat Bushan Gosani, general secretaries ASKPC.
