ASKPC for Passage of Temples, Shrines Bill

JAMMU, Nov 11 : All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC), president Ram Krishan Wangnoo today sought the intervention of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha in passage of Temples and Shrines Bill so that religious heritage of Kashmiri Pandits in Valley of Kashmir can be protected.
He asked the Government to remove the hurdles in filling up the remaining 3000 posts out of 6000 which were announced in 2008 by the then Prime Minister for Kashmiri migrants. It was a matter of concern that in 12 years the Government could not fill up all the posts. Besides, he demanded creation of more posts in different Central and UT Government departments for absorbing all Kashmiri migrant unemployed youth so that they could earn their livelihood.
He said that in the past 31 years of exodus Kashmiri Pandits were ignored in all spheres of life.
“Was it not the duty of the Government to provide accommodation to all relief holders so that they could save themselves from the burden of rent which they had to pay from the meagre monthly cash assistance given to them by the Government” , he added.
He demanded that the Government should either provide accommodation or bear the monthly rent paid by the migrants. Besides, relief should be enhanced to Rs 10000 per head instead of Rs 3000 keeping in view the soaring market.
Bharat Bushan Bhat Gosani, general secretary showed concern over the plight of PM Package employees in Kashmir as three different families were asked to share one accommodation. He demanded each family whether in camps or outside on rent may be provided with a separate accommodation.
Ravinder Raina, vice- president of the organization reported to members about the developments that took place in the webinar organized by the AIKS. The agenda set by the host was “Changing dynamics of JKUT in view of recent Government orders and our Resettlement/Rehabilitation in Kashmir” The 17 participants from different organizations of the Kashmiri Pandit community including ASKPC kept their party view point.
