ASKPC inaugurates new office at Durga Nagar

JAMMU, Apr 19: All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC)  inaugurated new office at Durga Nagar Sector 1 (Near Water Tank) in its newly constructed own building. The new office Building was inaugurated by Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsang Ashram amidst large number of dignitaries, leaders of various Kashmiri Pandit Organization & large number of People. A Hawan was performed on this occasion.
Addressing the Gathering, H L Chatta President ASKPC said that the foundation stone of the building was laid by Late Amar Nath Vaishnavi two years back & it was his earnest desire that ASKPC must have their own office building which was fulfilled today He said that it was their bad luck that building could not be opened during life time of Late Vaishnavi. He also thanked to those People who had donated generously for the construction. He also apprised the gathering under what circumstances the construction was completed. He also that that the work is going on two Dream Projects of ASKPC that one being the Community daily news paper & a Kashmiri Pandit Professional collage.
In his Speech RK Raina Sr Vice President of ASKPC highlighted on the role of ASKPC Played during pre Migration & after Migration from Kashmir Valley He reminded about the history that  when the boat of Kashmiri Pandits was caught in the whirlpool of communal disturbance in the Valley during 1931, Kashyap Bandhu rushed to the rescue of the rudderless and slumbering community. He immediately set to the task of establishing the Sanatan Dharam Yuvuk Sabha (now ASKPC) at Sharika Bhawan after reclaiming the swamp around the ancient Sheetalnath Temple. ASKPC started a movement of social reform female education, widow re-marriage, limitations on dowry as also the supreme necessity of unity among Kashmiri Pandits at that time & it is following that till today.

Vijay Bakaya MLC laid the foundation stone of the second Storey of the building for which he granted funds out of his constituency Development Fund.
The Prominent people who attended the Ceremony were Vinod Pandit, King c Bharti of APMCC, Sh DN KISSU Prof Jalla, Prof  Trisal,, Prof B L Sadhu, Sh R K Raina, B L Thusoo, Verinder Raina of Panun Kashmir and others.
