JAMMU, Apr 11: All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) has strongly condemned the recent statements of former Chief Minister and president National Conference (NC) as well as Congress leaders during their recent campaigning in Kashmir Valley.
In a statement issued here, today ASKPC president, Advocate Ravinder Raina said to obtain Parliament seat and to be in the Parliament House at the cost of national integrity and by uttering controversial statement along with Congress leaders, Dr Farooq Abdullah has exposed himself in national and international forums. The people who claim themselves to be the mainstream politicians and saviors’ of democracy are playing with the lives of innocent children of Valley by exploiting their sentiments after glorifying violence and terrorism, Raina added.
He said it is strange that former CM, Omar Abdullah is urging the people of Valley to strengthen the message of secularism for the sake of power. ASKPC wanted to know where the “raag” of secularism had gone when Dr Abdullah was CM of the State and Kashmiri Pandits were hounded out of their homes under the patronage of Dr Abdullah who abdicated not only his Constitutional duty but also his moral and human duty to save KPs.
Dr TK Bhat general secretary, ASKPC, said that it is amazing that when in power the stalwarts of NC are pleading for stern action and measures against cross border terrorism not only calling for bombing the Pakistan but tough action against separatists in the Valley. But when out of power Dr Abdullah is tuning his music with separatists and glorifying innocent motivated stone pelters as freedom fighters. He said NC has ruled the Settle over 12 years and why Dr Abdullah and his son did not take steps to settle down burning issue when Congress was ruling at the Centre with whom they had an alliance and by making such statements presently the NC leadership is befooling the innocent Kashmiris which it has done before 1947.
Bhat said indulging in such a gimmick after taking oath of Constitution number of times is near hypocrisy and befooling the people of Kashmir.
