DODA, Nov 21: Police in this district have booked the owner of a bus that met with an accident in Assar area on November 11, 2023, for not properly following the procedures and traffic regulations.
This ill-fated bus, on its way from Kisthwar towards Jammu, met with an accident at Trungal area of Assar, resulting in death of 39 passengers and injuries to 17 others.
A case FIR number 21/2023 Under Sections 279, 337, and 304(a) of the IPC was registered at Police Station Assar following the accident. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by DySP DAR Doda was also constituted under the supervision of Additional SP Headquarters Doda for ascertaining the cause of the death.
“During investigation, police have booked the owner of the bus, Dheeraj Gupta of Narwal Pain, Satwari, Jammu, for not properly following the procedures and traffic regulations, being the owner of the bus,” a police spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, further investigation in this case is underway.
