JAMMU, Feb 25: The Legislative Assembly today adopted six Motions for elections to Committees which were moved by the Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs, Mir Saifullah.
The Motions included election of eleven members to serve on the Committee on Public Accounts for the period ending March 31, 2015.
Another Motion provides recommendation to the Legislative Council to agree to elect according to the principle of proportional representation, two Members from Legislative Council to associate with the Committee on Public Accounts of the House for the period ending March 31, 2015.
The House also adopted that the Members of the House do elect in accordance with Rule 346 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, eleven members to serve on the Committee on Estimates for the period ending March 31, 2015.
The House further adopted that the House recommends to the Legislative Council to agree to elect according to the principle of proportional representation, two members from Legislative Council to associate with the Committee on Estimates of the House for the period ending March 31, 2015.
The Motion regarding election of eleven members of the House to serve on the Committee on Public Undertakings for the period ending March 31, 2015 was also adopted by the House.
The House also recommended to the Legislative Council to agree to elect two members from Legislative Council to associate with the Committee on Public Undertakings of the House for the period ending March 31, 2015.
All the Motions were adopted by the House unanimously.
