Assembly begins amid hullabaloo, Oppn disrupts Guv address, stages walkout

 JAMMU :Over month long Assembly session of Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature on Tuesday commenced amid hullabaloo as members of the opposition National Conference and Congress disrupted the Governor N N Vohra’s address and staged walkout.
As soon as Mr Vohra started addressing the joint sitting of the Legislature, NC and Congress MLAs disrupted the speech shouting ‘PDP-BJP sarkar hai hai’, ‘nikammi sarkar hai hai’, ‘Qatil sarkar hai-hai’.
Carrying black flags and placards the opposition raised anti-government slogans while they kept shouting and later staged walkout of the Assembly Hall.
Speaking to reporters outside, NC Legislature Party leader Ali Mohammad Sagar said, “the present dispensation has failed on all fronts. There is total chaos and uncertainity in the state under present govt rule.”
Mr Sagar said, “people of all the three regions have rejected the PDP-BJP Government. Opposition will restore confidence of the people and expose their failures.”
On local youth joining terrorist outfits, the NC leader said, “it is a matter of concern because fed up of PDP-BJP policies, youth has inclined towards terrorism.”
“It should be an eye opener for the Government. We ended terrorism but this Government failed to do so.”
Congress Legislature Party leader in the Lower House, Nawang Rigzin Jora said, “the Government seat as per norms should meet twice an year but they did not meet except for some days in the Valley only to pass GST.”
“Government is not in a position to reply to members questions, so not facing them,” he added and said, “in the last three years, civilians and security forces killings have increased.
There is no governance at all.”
“There is regional disparity on the rise, people of Jammu have outrightly rejected the BJP, who have failed in keeping their promises,” he said.
“The government failed to hold polls for Tassaduq Mufti from Anantnag constituency on security situation plea then how such regime can assure peaceful situation for the people in the State,” he added. (AGENCIES)
