JAMMU : Bharatiya Janata Party, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party and Jammu State Morcha legislators’ today staged walkout of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly over Pakistan Parliament passing resolution on Afzal Guru.
The legislators amid uproar in the House demanded that the government should take action against Pakistan for interfering in India’s affairs as soon as the House met for the day.
They were demanding that the August House should pass a resolution and condemn Pakistan’s resolution on Afzal Guru.
Creating ruckus, the MLAs, however, staged walkout of the House.
Meanwhile JKNPP MLAs also raised the issue of announcing relief to the families of two IRP men, who were killed by militants in Handwara on March 2.
As the government assured that an ex-gratia will soon be announced for the family, the JKNPP legislators amid noisy scenes blamed the Government for its ‘callous approach’.
“It is unfortunate that the government has not yet announced the relief for the families and the matter is still under consideration,” the Panthers Party MLAs rued. (AGENCIES)
