Reddy, who was addressing ‘Ekatma Mahotsav’ rally organised by his party on the fifth anniversary of Article 370 abrogation at the Bana Singh Stadium here in the outskirts of Jammu, appealed people of J&K to vote the BJP to power for maintaining the “development tempo of Narendra Modi Government” and rooting out terrorism.

He said the activities of Pakistan and its intelligence agency ISI have been largely curtailed in J&K after the abrogation of Article 370 by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi-led Government on August 5 in 2019, five -years ago and warned the neighbouring country against supporting terrorism in the Union Territory.
BJP national general secretary In-charge J&K and Ladakh UTs Tarun Chugh, J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina and party national secretary, Dr Narinder Singh were among the other prominent speakers in the rally.
“The Assembly elections will be held in September and we are sure that the people will vote the BJP to power with full majority given the changes which have been brought by the party by revoking Article 370 and extending B R Ambedkar’s Constitution to Jammu and Kashmir,” the Minister said.
Lashing out at Opposition parties, especially the Congress and the National Conference, (NC) Reddy said they are talking about re-implementing Article 370, which has only brought “death and destruction” to Jammu and Kashmir through Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. He dared the two parties to re-implement the controversial Article which has sown seeds of separatism in J&K and deprived the people of the erstwhile State of all the benefits enshrined in the Indian constitution.
“People have to decide which Government they want in J&K, the one which is talking about Article 370 or the BJP-led Government which wants to take J&K to new heights of development, peace and prosperity,” he said.
Terming the abrogation of Article 370 a “proud moment” for the country and the people of J&K, he said nobody had ever thought of such a development even as the foundation for it had been laid by Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, who laid down his life while opposing the controversial Constitutional provision.
“After a long struggle, the people of J&K finally got freedom from Article 370 which led to granting of rights to the women and other deprived sections of society. A new J&K came into being where terrorism, stone-pelting, hoisting of Pakistani flags and insult to the tricolour have become history,” he said.
Asking people not to vote for the Congress and the NC, Reddy said if these parties return to power there is possibility of revival of terrorism and separatism.
Reddy said the BJP is the only party which can ensure peace by not allowing Pakistan and its sponsored terrorists to target Indian citizens.
In an apparent reference to the recent terror activities in the Jammu region, he said, “We want to warn Pakistan that we will not allow terrorism to grow in J&K despite its continuous efforts. We will completely wipe out the menace of terrorism and protect our people…We are ready to die for the country,” he added.
Reddy said that Jammu & Kashmir has faced many difficulties due to the Abdullah family and Pakistan. He said that they along with the skewed leadership of Congress hundered the development of J&K, and gave rise to separatism in the erstwhile State. BJP Government under the strong leadership of PM Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah took a historic decision to abrogate Article 370, he added.
BJP national general secretary, Tarun Chugh, in his address, said that on this day in 2019, the final tribute was paid to the ‘Do Vidhan, Do Nishan, Do Pradhan’ in the erstwhile State of Jammu & Kashmir. He remembered the sacrifice of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and his arrest while entering J&K. He said that the BJP progressed with the pious thought of unifying the J&K with the rest of India in letter and spirit, which was achieved by the Modi Government on 5th August 2019. Prime Minister Narendra Modi implemented the Constitution of India in Jammu and Kashmir as wished by Dr. BR Ambedkar.
“Today, our Government led by Narendra Modi is continuously working on these three issues of development, trust and security in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that nobody can now bring back Article 370, while mentioning the articulations of Abdullah and Mufti on the abrogation of Article 370. He also took a jibe that both ex CMs Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti lost the elections in their bastions.
BJP UT Chief Ravinder Raina congratulated the people of J&K on the anniversary of the annulling of controversial Article 370 and 35 A and recalled the contribution of Maharaja Hari Singh, Pt. Prem Nath Dogra, Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and other great leaders. He said on this great day the injustice with West Pak refugees, PoJK displaced people and other communities was undone with whom Congress and NC has done grave injustice in their over 60 year rule.
Former Dy CM Kavinder Gupta, BJP general secretary (Org) Ashok Koul, vice-president Sham Choudhary, general secretaries, Vibodh Gupta, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, former Minister Chander Prakash Ganga, Ashwani Sharma, Prof Gharu Ram, Baldev Singh Billawaria, Vikram Randhawa, Keshav, Ch Darshan Singh, Sunil Dutt, Rekha Mahajan, Dharminder, Vidhya Mottan, Surekha, Swarn Lata, Neelam and others addressed the rally.
