SRINAGAR, May 29: Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today said that despite status quo agreement of BJP with PDP on Article 370, Central Government on the instructions of Nagpur based RSS bosses is hell bent to make Article 370 irrelevant and is coercing the Jammu and Kashmir Government not to become an impediment in this direction.
Addressing a public meeting at Nowpora in Sopore today, he said that every overt and covert actions of the Central Government to weaken and erode special status of the J&K are visible now. Mr Vakil said that so much interest of Union Home Minister with regard to introduction of Industrial Policy in the J&K State, identification of land for establishment of Sainik Colonies, Kashmiri migrants’ cluster colonies etc. reflect the motives of RSS guided Central Government.
Mr Vakil urged the Chief Minister to be very cautious and vigilant as RSS is forcing BJP Government to push their agenda and work for eroding the special status of the Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed upon both NC and PDP that they should pass a unanimous resolution in current Assembly Session in respect of protection of Article 370 and return of Power projects to clear every iota of doubt and apprehension expressed by stake holders in this behalf said, that passing of a unanimous resolution in present Assembly session will send a clear signal to the Central Government that any move to fiddle with Article 370 will be dealt with full might by all the secular minded parties.
Former Minister said that PDP must not forget the fact that they are supported by a party blessed with extremist RSS ideology and mere statement of Chief Minister in Assembly, that she will not allow the Chief Ministers’ post to become her weakness, is not sufficient to convince the poor but intelligent masses of J&K but a unanimous resolution will definitely clear every confusion in the minds of common masses.
Mr Vakil also appealed the Chief Minister to work for eradication of corruption from J&K and strengthen and empower all anti- corruption institutions in the State so that people of the State don’t get demoralized and alienated from the system and mainstream politics.
Besides others who addressed the gathering included senior leaders Ghulam Nabi Shah, GM Dar, Haji Mohammad Afzal Khan, Ghulam Ahmad Shagoo, Master Ghulam Ahmad Sheikh, S Trilok Singh and several others.
