JAMMU, Mar 8: The Legislative Assembly working schedule has been revised once again on the request of Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather.
During debate on budget, Mr Rather said the grants of Finance Ministry have been listed for Tuesday while he would have to reply to budget debate in second sitting of Sunday as per the already revised calendar of the Assembly.
“Since my reply on budget was scheduled for second sitting of Monday, the Finance Department wouldn’t be in a position to reply to cut motions on his demand for grants listed the very next day i.e. Tuesday’’, Mr Rather said demanding that two sitting of Monday be converted into one in which he would give his reply while today’s one sitting be converted into two for debate’’, Mr Rather said.
Further, he added, as per the calendar one more day was required for discussion of grant of all Ministries.
Speaker Mubarak Gul put the proposal before the House, which agreed to Mr Rather’s request.
The Finance Minister would now reply to budget debate in first and only sitting on Monday while the grants of Finance Ministry would be taken up for discussion and passing on Tuesday.
Today’s one sitting was converted into two sittings.
